Advocate’s Guide to California’s Coordinated Care Initiative

Implementation of the Coordinated Care Initiative (CCI) is now underway in Los Angeles, Riverside, San Diego, San Bernardino, and San Mateo counties. There have been significant changes to the CCI since the release of the second version of the Advocate's Guide to California's Coordinated Care Initiative in September 2013. Version Three of the Guide includes these important changes and provides the most recent information on the CCI.

DREDF’s 35th Anniversary Celebration

In April, the first-ever Disability Rights Leadership Institute on Bioethics (DRLIB for short) brought together around 65 disability rights advocates to learn about and discuss issues as diverse as withholding and withdrawal of life-sustaining treatment based on disability status, the legalization of assisted suicide and the threat it poses to both the disability community and the public at large, the issues posed by new reproductive technologies, and so-called "wrongful birth / wrongful life" lawsuits.

DREDF National Park Service (NPS) Service Animal Comments

The Disability Rights Education & Defense Fund (DREDF) appreciates the opportunity to comment on the National Park Service (NPS) Notice of Proposed Rulemaking (NPRM) to implement the National Park Service Organic Act of 1916 (16 U.S.C. § 1 et seq.), and bring its service animal provisions in line with existing federal disability rights laws.
